Question from a graphics enthusiast without technical background here.
Considering we have reached a point where we can have 1 triangle per pixel, is the vegetation problem still a problem?
I mean, to my understanding, lots of vegetation means lots of foliage, which means lots of alpha, which...

quite an interesting paradigm shift, although it will probably not be enough to allow them to make a big come back. Hopefully some of these tech will be found in Apple stuffs but it is less likely...
Holly cow,I still can’t believe what I just saw. Seriously? I never ever thought I could be excited about a cooling solution! by the way. Anyone knows how liquid metal ages? I mean we know thermal paste tend to dry with time.... what about liquid metal? Is it gonna be a problem?
I would have thought that having a unified way to access data (block storage or named spaces) , would be the easier path , but i am no software engineer. I mean it would reduce the number of software layers i guess?
I would be quite an upgrade if Sony could update their SSD to comply with zoned namespaces. It would possibly increase the available space by reducing overprovisioning and also boost lifespan ( which is possibly a concern with a soldered ssd)
From what I understand it just requires an ssd...
I wonder if the speed of the ssd could allow to have a smaller « os reserved » memory. Maybe having only a micro kernel ( although freebsd doesn’t have a micro kernel) and realtime apps (like messenging apps) in memory and load everything else (OS UI, etc..) on demand when pressing the ps button.
ok.. few weeks ago i felt underwhelmed with the gpu specs and complained about over excitement over the cooling system , but now i am quite worried when i see these intake and vents..
In the end, i quite preferred the dev kits with separate processing compartment and power compartment with each...
Regarding the sound immersion that Cerny was talking about, it could be interesting to add support for a device à la woojer Edge or Vest, this could bring haptic feedback to a whole new level.

I understand streaming data fast enough in a corridor game with full detail assets. But how did they manage the view reaching from the canyon to the horizon? Isn’t there just too much assets to fit in memory if there is literally no LOD ?
I mean, is the gate seen at the horizon a fully detailed...
I was wrong about RTRT. If they can achieve this kind of GI without RT engine this is more than enough to my eyes.
But with this insane number of poly per frame reaching per pixel precision... how will they achieve foliage and vegetation? Will they still use transparency or will it be freaking...
Isn’t it strange to get excited about a cooling solution? Don’t get me wrong, I would most likely welcome a silent and efficient cooling system ( I have to use my bose QC 35 with anc to play on my first gen ps4)
However, I mean.. this is a graphics enthusiast forum... isn’t it? For the moment...
At this point, even 11% would be good to take. It is more a question of appearances rather than competing in terms of pure power.... because we don’t really know how much the delta in Tflop really means for games.... (although I am sure that developpers would not spit on 4 more CU.)
Don’t take...
