Beyond3D's GT200 GPU and Architecture Analysis

June of what year? 2008 or 2009? j/k!

That would seem to go against the goal of simplifying the product naming/lineup.

I'd guess that at least part of it is due to DisplayPort (that's assuming it's supported, and I don't think there's any reason why it wouldn't).

    NVIDIA: Beyond G80...

You don't see it much any more, but back when DX9 was coming out, I remember seeing a lot of 64bit and 128bit used for FP16 and FP32. If G92 does support double precision, that would be FP64 which is also 256bit, right? Now how likely that explanation is, I have no idea.

    Nvidia's Hybrid SLI

Is the IGP going to have dedicated memory? If it has to use system memory, couldn't that potentially hurt performance when running in SLI mode with the add-in card? So the IGP would be fighting with the CPU, etc over system bandwidth, which might hurt more than the IGP helps?

I think that was probably more of a coincidence (even if it was intentional) than an indication of a standard naming convention. FX 5200 was NV34, FX 5600 was NV31, and FX 5700 was NV36.

New Forum Skin: Introducing 'vB3D' Edit: And vB3D-LC

It's been changed for .page, but it's still fixed for the body tag which is where it causes the most problems.

New Forum Skin: Introducing 'vB3D' Edit: And vB3D-LC

The slow/different scrolling is due to the use of a fixed background image. Putting this in a greasmonkey script will change the background to scroll and fix the problem if the designer doesn't change the CSS from fixed to scroll. // ==UserScript== // @name B3D Background //...

The Official G84/G86 Rumours & Speculation Thread

Will the ALUs run at the same speed as the core or will they be significantly faster like with G80? Either way, would it have any major effect on cost/yields or power consumption since these are intended for mainstream/budget and/or mobile? Also, could the lack of support for AGP be because...

    GF8800 demos released

Just taking a wild shot, but do you have dual monitors? I seem to remember having a similar issue with the 6800 demos and I think changing the hardware acceleration in the control panel to "Single display performance mode" took care of it. I doubt it's the problem here, but I figured I'd put...

    Common sense NDA

What about the ferrets? I got some video off of Paul Otellini's computer and it looks like he was hiding outside in the bushes doing some covert surveillance.

    RMA'd my broke 7800GTX512, got a 8800 GTS back

A couple years ago, the fan on my BFG GF4 Ti4200 went out. I dropped it off at UPS Monday night, so it didn't go out until Tuesday. By Friday, I had a 5900XT in my system.

    NVIDIA: Beyond G80...

How likely is it that the clusters could have different number of ALUs (more or less, depending on positioning)? Or that the bus width per ROP partition is halved for the lower end?
