Well, they're presumably building something like what I describe for their PlayStation Now servers.. the question is whether they'd see any advantage in rolling that out in a new retail unit.

It'd be great if Sony out a new model of the PS3 that included the real-time h.264 video encoding hardware. Make the new PS3 able to remote play to Vita for all titles like the PS4 can, and to stream to twitch / uplay, perhaps.

This brings up what is probably a very silly question. Would X1 have seen any meaningful benefit if MS had decided to boost to 16GB DDR3? I don't mean in terms of graphics performance.. more in terms of disk caching, room for pre-calculated baked data, having a spec on their data sheet that...

Unless TV manufacturers start making 80"+ TVs at affordable prices, there's no point to 4K television. You'd have to sit much closer to the TV than anyone does. 4K monitors, on the other hand, are boss.

AC4 on PS4 uses it as well.

Even a single big file can require a good many seeks once the hard drive has fragmented enough.

Played this for hours and hours last night on the PS4. I had bought it on the web store, and the game and patch were waiting for me when I got home. My god, this game is addicting. And beautiful. I find myself just wanting to get to walk around in some of these levels.

Wow, Trials Fusion is pretty hardcore. I could see myself spending a whole lot of effort trying to pull off a lot of these challenges.. or giving up and slinking away. Haven't played a 'tricks' game like this in some time.

It is free if you already owned it on PS3, yes.

The devkit angle debugger / dev tools limit makes sense to me. I'd been wondering if Sony might be making plans to bring Android apps to PS4, and I could see needing a good bit of space for the full Android environment, especially if they just bring over the Android variant Linux kernel to run...

I wound up picking up an extra DS4 and the Nyko dual-charger base for them. The battery does indeed not last nearly long enough, but I usually play single-player and I wind up just using one until it goes nearly dead, then turning it off, putting it on the charger, and using the other one...
