I am positively sure that people who dont value BC are folks who either dont have the console in the first place or if they do have meagre amount of ps3 and psn games.
Only logical explanation. How on earth in this digital age when companies like sony are trying to build their own network store...
because the more games are released for the ps3/psn, the harder it becomes to dump them all and cut your fanbase from your new product.
and how the hell is adding BC taking away from the ps4 experience. You havent even played it yet!!
Sony already payed a huge price by cutting BC from ps3...
The longer this generation goes, the longer more games are made for the ps3 the more likely Backwards compatibility will be an issue.
Hopefully yoshida, kaz and co do not disappoint loyal sony fans and they allow us to play our games on the new console
cell does its core job very well. it processes and eats numbers for breakfast. Its a shame its being forced to divert some attention to a weak gpu like the rsx
i do know there are 16x blu ray writers. so i am assuming logically a 16x drive would be not impossible for the ps4. as for read speeds. it would certainly be a lot quicker than the current 2x ps3
but the point remains. sony has gazillions of blu ray making equipment at it's disposal. There's...
The longer this generation goes for sony the more i predict sony will retain it's own core cell processor and make some tweaks. Beef up the ram, get some new GPU and call it a day
like i said. let microsoft lead the way.
nintendo has already an optical drive in it's next gen console. Sony has enter blu ray factories at it's disposal and 16x blu ray drives. They have no reason to dump their own optical format for some expensive flash cards.
Nintendo is already using 25 blu ray disks for the wii U. Sony will use bigger ones for the ps4. You seriously think MS is going to open up a new production baseline for flash cards?
good luck. I actually would love them to try that just to see the train wreck that ensues
has anyone seen this?

that's 4 cells running together in parallel. Are their any processors out there that can do this as well?
i can only surmise the majority of the folks here are mundane and conservative in nature. Please dont jump on me. I was only joking.
sony should go big, unique and seperate from the rest. That's what makes them special as hardware manufacturer. when they copy they become very bad.
Take ps3...
2 skus? lol. why waste resources and production costs on 2 varying different storage medium when one is enough.
great way to cleave through your market, confuse customers and retailers
2x blu ray speed? you have to be kidding me. The ps3 has 2x blu ray speeds and it's not fast enough because of the size of the storage medium. There's a reason why you have installs on the ps3.
16x speed is minimum. And it costs nothing to sony to have that speed. I personally wanted more...

wow the more i am reading about the TBI the more impressed i am. This should be playstation 4 memory. right there.
@pjbliverpool
when i talk about generic stuff i mean things like cpu design, memory design etc. pointless really...
