Sony doesn't release PC titles for PS owners who want to wait 2 years for a more performant version. Their biggest motivations are to capture those who don't own a PS console and those willing to double dip.

MS employs such strategy so low-level MS managers don't bring in temps only to treat them like full time employees. Microsoft was sued in the past for hiring perma-temps because they weren't offering them benefits. 18/6 stops managers from using temps as a way to avoid the FTE hiring process.

I don't believe MS needs to produce a console with such functionality. But what about a handheld? Outside of the Nintendo, no other company offers a subsidized handheld. A derivative of the Xbox OS which supports sandboxed versions Windows or SteamOS in a handheld sold for a healthy profit...

Did you turn off dynamic tone mapping on the display? Other says there is a glitch so you have to turn the monitor off and then on before running the calibration tool.

It seems that's a discussion we haven't had in over a decade. Consoles used to come with dedicated hardware scalers. Is that still true? Do consoles leave it the TV to support 8K resolution on 8K sets?

I doubt if they need to go look for another vendor. Consoles are so integral to the success of AMD GPU business that I doubt any other vendor could offer enough to warrant AMD giving up those contracts. MS and Sony probably have first class access, pricing and influence when it comes to AMD...
