deepbrown - dynamic difficulty has been done on at least one game, resistance. its a pretty nice feature actually. i'm not sure exactly what it does behind the scenes, but it can tell if you are really good or not and adjust accordingly. this really is there to make sure the length of the game...

Omeyocan- i actually dont know the total time it takes to finish. i haven't played it through to really know.. i'm not sure we know exactly yet.. more info will come in the coming weeks regarding exacts.
as far as how it looks, it looks even better now then any of the trailors you guys have...
the main characters are around 20-30k per character depending on the complexity. I think Drake is around 30.. i dont have the numbers in front of me.
the enemies/pirates are around 12-15k.
we are trying to hide as much as we can with normal maps so the polys really dont show. Hopefully...
babcat - I can't really talk too much in detail about the limitations we are facing. For the most part its the same limitations any company really faces. We could always use more of anything. Faster processors, more ram.. etc. I think the nature of games is we always can push things farther...

ShootMyMonkey - our in game shaders are pretty complex. the skin alone has a ton of different effects and maps that make up the final result.. some might be over kill.. but cool none the less :) i'm not really sure if i can talk in detail about them. but it is more then your standard color bump...
ShootMyMonkey- they are both using the same textures, however, not the same material. the material in the render is specific to mental ray and the in game material is a proprietary skin shader. This will definetly make it look a little different.
