The launch trailer. Looks amazing! I haven't bought any games in a long time but I think ill end up buying this game. Edit - I personally prefer the music from the leaked one and someone decided to make a redux version.

And this comes back to Perf/W. Lower power consumption while delivering similar performance figures means less heat -> quieter cooler (or a budget one for increasing margins..7900GT anyone?). The AMD stock reference coolers dating back all the way back to the northern islands really has hurt AMD...

Just saw Mad Max Fury Road. Didn't really know what to expect since Ive never seen the originals.. It was an absolute blast! haven't seen an action movie thats put me on the edge of my seat in a LONG time. 9.5/10 if not 10/10.

On top of that, they are including an AIO cooler as their "reference" design which is somewhat alarming (if the rumors are true of course). The leaked benchmarks indicate that the power consumption numbers are better or about the same to that of a R290X yet I can't see why the need for such...

Even if there were "one micro second spikes" as suggested by THG, i don't think it would do much to the TDP (or the average heat dissipated from the GPU + some margins perhaps) because the temperature can't just rapidly change within that time period. As long as the average power dissipated...

I don't think ive ever seen someone do a power measurement in a space of 1ms. This is only useful when measuring losses through say a mosfet e.g. switching losses. Plus all that could also just be high frequency noise (that may look like very high peaks on the scope which could be alarmingly...

I completely agree with this. GPUs are primarily a 3D accelerator for ... games!! A few good PC titles with the ability to push current GPU technology to the brink could really en-light the dying fire and the need of these so called video cards in the first place. dGPUs are not going...

The game was so refreshing from the whole "hide and regen" to only allowed to carry 2 guns limitation that ALL fps games are doing these days with overly complicated AI which I dont necessarily think it results a better game play experience. Im not sure if its the engine, but killing enemies...

Its because the hobbit has incorporated some parts of the silmarillion into its plot. And the second movie is by far twice better than the first one! :cool: Id give it a 8.5 or 9/10. Really enjoyed it in HFR/3D/IMAX.

Im not so sure about that seeing as the GTX780 Ti has similar power consumption to the R290X yet the cooler is able to maintain ~83C at reasonable noise levels. Maybe the bigger surface area is helping somewhat, but not all blower type coolers are created equal. Imo they should have spent...
