    Nvidia's Hybrid SLI

My laptop (Sony SZ5) has an early version of this already. You can switch between the onboard Intel graphics, or flick a switch, reboot, and you have go7400 graphics. Not as slick, but the basis of the same idea. It seems to me if you could switch this on and off without rebooting, then you...

    A decent Bond movie?

I have to say all the advertising pissed me off. Everything was an advert for either Sony or Omega. The whole line : 'Oh, thats a nice watch, Rolex?' 'No, Omega' 'nice' was the most annoying and stupid thing in a movie since Will Smith trying to sell sneakers in iRobot. apart from...

Question about merry old England (job stuff)

OK, this is good timing. Just got an email from 'on high' saying we are looking at expanding (some more). If I can place people, I get a very nice little placement payment. What are your skills? ie, what area do you want to work in? Little background could be usefull. The job is at a...

    Multi-GPU and dual displays?

You could buy a Matrox dualhead2go or tripplehead2go. I have the tripplehead2go and it seems ok.

Rerelease of Star Wars: Eps 4-6

Bloody typical, I bought the 'propper' Star wars on Laser Disc off ebay about 3 months ago. On DVD now, and not only does Han shoot first, Greebo doesnt even get a shot in! I remember it with grebo shooting, but missing, but Ive now watched it about 10 times, and I cant see a shot from Greebo...

    Dual Monitor Setup Issues

As Skrying said above, and Ive since found out, nVidia for some retarded reason hides the nice easy to use standard windows setting for moving screens around. They replace it with a stupid ASCII style tree view where you have to find the right menu out of about 20, and then move things around...

    Dual Monitor Setup Issues

Well, Ive just started a new job, and we have nVidia cards now. The multi monitor setup bit is quite well hidden. You go to the advanced adapter properties, click the little green arrow thing on the left of the window, and go down the ugly tree structure to something like 'clearview' or...

Peter Jackson, Weta and NZ - will they challenge Hollywood for real?

Well, as a Kiwi, and someone who has about 10 friends working at vaious of Peters studios (Weta, Weta studios, etc), I have to say there were a few reasons to use NZ. Its Cheap. As in extras would work for peanuts, rather than the USD500/day expected in the states. Red tape to get roads...

    Open letter to D-Link

I use to use D-Link all the time. In fact, my old work, my brother, and my parents all have D-Link routers because of me. I stopped using them cos they bugger up VPN networks pretty well. Using a Linksys now, and it also buggers up VPNs, even though its got a hardware endpoint. Maybe Im...

    Open letter to D-Link

Thought this was interesting. Its great what big corporations can get away with. To be honest, its probably all down to one or two developers inside D-Link though. http://people.freebsd.org/~phk/dlink Suck to have this happen to you. Ali

    Dual Monitor Setup Issues

Do you mean the nVidia drivers kill off the standard display properties in Windows? Neither ATI or Matrox do that. Actually, neither do any of the Intel graphics machines Ive setup have either. I must be way behind the curve on nVidia stuff! How about if you boot into safe mode? Do you get...

    Dual Monitor Setup Issues

Well, the only nvida card I have is on my old Dell laptop with a Geforce2go. Bit old now. Anyway, what Im talking about is like that shown here: http://techreport.com/reviews/2002q4/multimon/index.x?pg=5 Have they changed it since then? To be honest, the built in windows multi monitor...
