Your reply insinuated some sort of expectation of a driver limitation or a change in the APU/GPU performance as it might related to some non-desktop part.
I'm not convinced either of these two items are somehow holding back a level of performance which would decisively help XBOX.
Do you have data which suggests otherwise?
This is highly likely to be driver and "desktop" independent. What specific use case are you envisioning in which amplification shaders becomes a performance advantage?
Rendering work is going to love more threads, accordingly the 7900 is likely the better bet. It also sounds like the 9700 is really expensive where you live, so if the 7900 is cheaper, I'd certainly go for that.
It's also worth noting: the all the Intel processors you've mentioned are...
So, isn't this a situation where people vote with their wallet? Doesn't this just devolve into the same "common sense" statements we always make about upcoming / newly released games?
Don't preorder.
Watch the reviews.
Watch for more than one review.
And then don't buy shoddy games.
Sounds...
And now we're back to the problems with NVIDIA App deciding what "optimized" settings should be in your games.
I'll never assume my personal definition of optimal matches homerdog's definition of optimal. This isn't related to my opinion being any better than homerdog's, rather we're both...
Ok, so we have one example.
Compared to quite literally decades of games that were just as equally unoptimized and asked for insane hardware? Did everyone else forget the past 20 years of PC gaming? Really?
It's still a boogeyman + scapegoat IMO. And besides, the cat's out of the bag now...
As time goes on, less and less physical copies are sold -- this isn't specific to AC or PS5, it's just a fact of life. And as such, games sold in prior years should statistically have higher physical copy sales due to the physical medium falling further out of favor in later years and titles. I...
Can anything available today hit 60FPS at 4k native in Cyberpunk 2077 with path tracing enabled? And would you call it unoptimized? Howabout the same two questions for Indiana Jones? Also, I'm actually curious to see any dev anywhere telling people to turn on Framegen; do you have examples...
No matter what the upscaler method (and I agree generally with your DLSS callout in an XeSS thread) I think @DegustatoR 's post directly addresses your complaint with developers skipping "proper optimizations": Which isn't anything new or in any way related to upscaling specifically. So this...
I feel your summary fails to call out some of the surrounding nuance. Here's Famitsu's direct sales number reporting: https://www.gematsu.com/2025/03/famitsu-sales-3-17-25-3-23-25
Notice AC is the fifth highest selling physical media in their list, and is the third highest in terms of physical...
Speaking only for myself, the quality of upscaling has reached and often surpassed that of native rending. I'm one of those folks who prefer nearly all graphical fidelity knobs be cranked to 11, and I find a balanced or quality upscaling result far more visually pleasing than some number of...
Mod mode again: "Woke topics" are hard to reign in, and essentially impossible to prove in either direction. I think we've got that angle covered already. Let's wander back into other aspects of the businesses success or failure please.
Mod mode again: @DavidGraham dropped a suggestion into the mod inbox that perhaps all the Apple gaming talk makes more sense as its own thread versus kinda hidden in the Existential Dread Thread. I think it was a good idea, so here we are with a nice shiny place to talk Apple gaming. Enjoy!
