    It's just a Netflix codename, isn't it?

That's what somebody engaging in a cover up would say. Nice try! :nope:

Pretty sure we've used that as a code name at my work before. I guess I must work at AMD. Awesome!

It's pretty late to "compete" against all the TV boxes out there. FireTV,Apple and all the Android Arm with a NVidia's Stealth at the top. That strategy would have made a lot more sense 2013 with a low power TV/Interface Arm Hub and a game module optimized for performance.

I've also used it at work - in relation to the more dangerous Polaris.

Netflix also uses the Vega and Rigel codenames for the PS3, which was to denote the blu-ray drive. Both the Vega and Rigel stars are blue and blu-ray drives use blue laser. The code names typically represent something unique about the console. You can read more here: http://gaming.stackexchange.com/questions/176851/what-does-rigel-refer-to-in-device-model-ps3-rigel

Wccftech got it wrong in the first place. They corrected their own error, which tells me the jumped the gun before confirming the claims. Also, their correction seems wrong. The Polaris codename is only for Xbox One not for all consoles.

Wii = Link (DRM issues at that time)
Wii U = Metroid (Nin fictional game character)
PS3 = Vega then Rigel (blue stars, blue for blu-ray)
PS4 = Pollux (orange star, no idea what this means)
X360 = Ryse (?coincidence with Ryse Son of Rome game for XB1?)
XB1 = Polaris (white star, aka North Star, no idea what this means, ?AMD Polaris Architecture?)

MS has been pretty vocal about a "balanced" system in an "efficient" design.

Codenames need to be trademarked! This much confusion is running online discussions of dozens of people.

The crazies at Mr X are indeed saying that 8). Looking at Powdercores post history tells me he's either frequented that place or he believes everything he's read on there.

    STOP THE INSANITY!

The XBox One does NOT have an AMD Polaris GPU.
