Weren't they the ones that were always in Russian first, and then some days later it would show up at Digit-life in English? Or am I misremembering? It doesn't seem to be the case anymore.

But any rate, yes, good stuff.

I think you're talking about ixbt, not xbit. Similar names, different sites.

This is correct. Ixbt and Digit-Life are the "same" sites in Russian and English, while X-Bit Laboratories is a different one and in English only. You can see this by visiting www.ixbt.com and clicking or hovering your mouse over "English" at the top right (this should take you to Digit-Life).

Edit: umm...that should be top left corner, quite obviously. I must have tied the string to remind me which hand is right on the left today

Ah ha. Sneaky. To add to the degree of difficulty, x-bit labs is also run by Russians, tho some in the US. And they have a woman chief editor! One has to wonder if there is some odd power in the letters b, i, t, x in Russian having to do with technology that makes both sites want to envoke them.

Maybe my "engrish" isn't good enough, I wasn't trying to be rude or disrespectful to anyone. If it sounded that way, I'm sorry about it. Ah, family guy, a great show. Sometimes it's too paranoid for my tastes, but incredibly funny.

I meant Xbits with my props, although I like Ixbits too. :)

There are a lot of good, under-rated hardware sites out there. It's easy to be good, but to be good and popular can be a royal biatch anymore. :???:

X1800XT Overclocking: http://www.driverheaven.net/reviews/r520reviewxvxv/overclocking.htm 685/1790 stable on stock cooling.

Tho "one Swallow does not Spring make".

I would be tempted towards suspicion as to why they didn't try this with an XL --but then I looked at their orginal review and it appears they only have an XT; at least they did not include the XL in their original piece either.

And here are results on XL's overclock ability:

Nice overclocks there, not as bad as some might imply.

Yes, he's a cool lad; met him and Macci at Ibiza last weekend :) As for reviews, I like Xbit's very much, they test lots of games and you get a better overall feel of the tested card.

Not sure I'd call that efficiency testing, more "benchmarking some shader rates".

But yeah, with more basic ALU power per clock, it's no surprise that G70 can do some good stuff clock and config matched with R520.

Righto, so what would "efficiency testing" look like then?
