Windows Vista Installation issue

I will try to describe the problem.

My system is:
Motherboard: Asus P5K/EPU P35
CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad 9450
RAM: 2 X 2 GB Corsair Dominator Kit
Videocard: Asus EAH4670
Optical drive: Optiarc DVD-RW

The second stage in the installation process of Vista is called "Expanding files". My computer completes the first stage "Copying files" with no visible problem. But when it reaches the second stage, the DVD drive stops responding, or better to stay- begins to work at a much lower speed. The DVD disc begins to rotate slower and there is less noise. It stays in that situation several minutes without any progress and then a message appears: "Windows cannot install the required files..."
I tried many Vista versions- the issue is the same.... I have another computer and the installation there is not problematic...

What is the problem? Does anyone know? I tried to install it with only one module of RAM but again- no success...
Is it possible that the EPU (Energy processing unit) is the problem?
Please, help me. Thank you.

thats easy you have no hard drive :D assuming you missed that out

1. check the hdd in another computer. Is it allready formatted? try letting the vista dvd partiton and format it (not quick format)
2. very wild guess replace usb keyboard and mouse with ps2 versions

dvd slowing speed = it gets errors reading disc and slows down in order to try at lower speed.
Maybe the dvd in that pc is failting, can you try with another reader?
