I'm curious to see where W7 will be by the time the new iPhone rolls out. If the iphone 5 is delayed until fall, that gives a bit more breathing room. More importantly, a new hardware platform to build on.

Delayed until fall? I've never heard anything to suggest it would be earlier.

The big question is when are we going to see phones with dual core processors? The current hardware, i.e. Qualcomm QSD8x50 that all WP7 phones use is getting quite long in the tooth now. They really need to move to the dual core QSD8x60 which will improve performance(esp GPU performance) massively. Android phones with dual cores have been shipping since Q1, and Apple looks likely to launch in Q3. MS will get left far behind if they dont launch new hardware

Well that may only be anecdotal.

But MS supposedly had a $500 million budget at launch last year. Was that all spent? Was it all spent on advertising? Did they not offer inducements to carriers to promote the product?

That's probably a big reason why MS dumped billions in Nokia: they have the biggest established sales network around the world.

Those who have been interested in buying a WP7 device but haven't yet because of the price, the Amazon.de is now selling the LG Optimus 7 for 180€.

I'm tempted. In a ~month I am up for a new phone, but I want one with lte (verizon). Not sure if there will be wm7 phones with LTE out by then though. Hmm :neutral:
