Windows-based monitor calibration software

I've just got a new monitor and I'm having trouble getting the colour balances right, along with good brightness and constrast levels.

Can anyone recommend a nice piece of (preferably free or cheap) software that'll help me out?

I could dig out Colorific/ColorWizzard if that's decent, since I'm bound to have it on a graphics card CD somewhere.
