Now, we almost know clear the R420 does not support SM 3.0 but VS2.0/PS 2.0b. now the question is will ATi support SM 3.0 before SM 4.0 product ready ?

What are they going to do this christmas tho? DX10 won't be available, there is no Shader Model 4.0 defined right now.

R500 will be out with the introduction .90 micron technology from TSMC. Either fall or spring.

Why would their christmas part be important? R480 is my guess for christmas, I would be really surprised by r500 before next year.

As for sm4, well ATI most likely have some insight into what it will be, or is xbox2 not going to be longhorn? I don't really think that MS just throws out some numbers at the last minute.

I wouldn't be surprised if we saw R480 even sooner than that...

I thought that DXNext/Longhorn are to be launched Q4/2005 .... or Q1/2006 .... so it really makes sense to have SM4 part in Q4/2005 .... so If ATi wants to have SM3 part it should come no later than Q4/2004 . Right?

Wednesday.

I hope you mean that you can only talk a little about the Roadmap on Wednesday, unless I missed something; and the NDA is infact now on the 5th?

Yes, what's the scoop, Dave? Are the NDA's going down May 4th @ 9 AM or May 5th @ 9 AM? Everything I've seen, here and elsewhere, is pointing towards the 4th.

SM 3.0 capable R500 in spring or summer 2005

SM 4.0 capable R600 in summer or fall 2006

just my guess.

but Dave's revalations on ATI roadmap may change all this...
