Inexcusable. All my threads are closed. I'm going somewhere where they don't close my threads.

It's because, to be blunt, your threads were assuming these machines are magical creatures. Do some more reading of forums, web sites that handle GPU and CPU arch overviews(Techreport.com, realworldtech.com), look on wikipedia for some of the basics, etc. Then you'll be more educated.

Keep in mind, the site isn't just for experts. I can basically put together a PC and that's about it, but the site does require a certain minimum education level, and/or a willingness to learn and accept when your ideas or speculation are incorrect. You haven't really demonstrated that at all.

I'll be even blunter. They were closed because they were complete and utter codswallop. Personally I think the likelihood is that you're simply a troll that likes to start incomprehensible "discussions" in the hope to wind up people on here.

If that's not the case then follow I.S.T's advice; she's clearly more charitable than me.

That probably sounds like the best solution for all of us.

First off there's plenty of people who know less then me and post here frequently - that's not the problem. As a matter of fact - how do you even know what I know? The problem here doesn't seem to be knowledge - it seems to be character. Bad-natured moderators.

On a different note - why even have moderators? Why not create a computer-operated forum? There's an idea I might want to try. "Your post has been denied by Cyber Moderator, please try again." "You and your IP have been banned for excessive use of profanity by Cyber Moderator."

I like! Please get back to us when you've sorted out the details of a computer capable of autobanning the trolls!!

Just be careful what you wish for...

We close threads when the signal to noise ratio approaches zero on the technical forums.

These are the only forums I go on where technical quality is held in high regard, and for that reason these are also some of the best forums I go on. For instance, on forums like SemiAccurate we get dozens of pages of people like DeadmeatGA making up facts and pretending to understand things they don't while plugging their ears to any requests to provide evidence or any information that clearly contradicts it. On forums like this one people like him get banned; in fact he has been banned.

There's just not a lot of leeway to let people drag on threads when they're critically biased to the point where it distorts their arguments and basic ability to understand technology. Your bizarre obsession with Power 7 and other latency optimized processors is making it impossible for you to have a proper discussion on any of this.

For your information Exophase - I do have over 10 years experience posting on internet forums, just on console/computer technology. You're bound to pick up a thing or two in that time - even the most dim-witted individual would. I'm not even going to bother with academic qualifications - that qualification is far more valuable.

I pretty much invented the role of over-enthusiastic, enthusiast gaming/computer technology person. But I do have other qualifications - not that anyone cares.

pcvsconsole.com - which shut down in 2010. Although in case you're interested I did complete a minor in Computer Science at Rutgers University.

I'm sorry, but Trolling Experience is not desired nor is it welcome on these forums.

To me, this is the sort of place where people shouldn't feel they have to prove their 'forum posting experience' to justify their inclusion.

It's not a competition over the number of years a person has been posting. B3D is more about quality over quantity - although quantity of high quality is of course also greatly valued.

Hand-waving, wishful thinking, hardware worship and general fanboyism are not qualities appreciated in the technical forums on this board. If your threads got shut down, it's because they were lacking. Your general attitude in regards to the closure of your threads indicates you are unable to accept and adjust properly to criticism, which may indicate deeper flaws in your personality such as narcissism (or sociopathy) for example...

What does that even mean? Unless you were programming your own games loading the few commercial ones off a cassette onto your TRS-80 (Sorcerer/Apple/C-PET, etc.) like most of the old farts here then I don't get the invented thing.

The cool thing about B3D is that there are a lot of really smart, really patient people here. You may not realize this, but there's a good chance that some bit of software or hardware you're currently enthusiastic about was developed, in part, by fellow B3Ders. Hang back a bit, ask questions (after searching to make sure they aren't inane) where you can help out someone with less know-how, give a hand.

Take your MAG thread. Instead of posting some of that, you could have asked something like 'here's what I read somewhere. Does this make sense?' and the response would have been far different.

Sorry if I sound rude, but seeing this thread makes me smile a little after reading the recent MAG thread, That was one of the most hostile discussion I've seen on this forrom. You are too often over agressive in all your discussions, incapable of believing people disagree with your non-sensical arguments.

Deadmeat was banned from here about five or so times.

Hell, I think I signed up to the forum to explain in great detail why he was being a moron about bandwidth issues. He had actually claimed that a P4 would perform better with 1 gig of PC133 than with 512 megs of DDR(I don't recall what DDR speed was being used in the discussion, perhaps it was just DDR in general?).
