    Certainly!
    But isn't this more fun?

If it was a completly undocumented feature then people would probably not realise until they started comparing screen grabs, people would discuss it and end up with a bit of extra marketing for the game.

Ultima Underworld I and II let you choose your character's handedness... I can't think of any other games that let you do that!

Sigh... These two games were so far ahead in sooo many respects (handedness :), technically, addiction, gameplay, etc.) Why can't we see games like these anymore?!

Damn six fingered righties! Prepare to die!

Its really quite inconcievable how few games take handedness into consideration.

In Unreal [Tournament [2003]] you can choose left- or right-handed, or even centred for that Quake look 8)

I remember that I even had a key bound for switching handedness. Nice feature to have if you hide behind a corner while shooting :). (Yes, I'm a coward.) But I'm not sure what game it was, probably Quake2 (could have been UT).

Ahh, finally a simple question to answer on this forum! :)

Well, obviously all us that are left-handed are superior Human Beings (you know, being more creative and all that…) and thus any cool game dev is lefty through-and-through. Now, generally we don’t like to advantage of this too much over the masses, so that’s why game dev's try not to disturb people with this superior handling.

And we don’t care anyway: I use my mouse more with the right hand than the left (but of course my Golf-set is left-handed as it looks cool and tends to disturb competitors. 8) )

Oh and BTW: You might have heard about someone claiming to be left-handed and saying that we are at a disadvantage or overlooked or whatever. Take no notice of these people as they have been known to be fakes just trying to get attention.

    here is my theory:

obviously it is because most people ar righthanded. most people have their mice on the right side of their keyboard and the mouse lies at the bottom right of the monitor. it is easier perception-wise to have the gun facing up and to the left. same thing with the default mouse cursor on most operating systems. coming from lower right, going upper left. makes someone feel like they have more control of the gun because it is coming from the same direction as the hand you are controlling it with.

Everyone knows lefties are more likely to die first.

I seem to remember being irritated that the character in Undying was left-handed.
