What is this? XBox One X supports XBox 360 HD-DVD Player?

it would be crazy if it did work, then the whole like to preserve games like films would also actually apply to films they used to support
wouldn't even be hard to support.

pretty sure i heard ign ask about it in the most recent albert pennelo interview and he said no.

I don't think it crazy. There's fans out there with drives and disks, and it just needs a driver and software stack with the already existing video player to play the disks. Cost probably isn't that high so might be a nice gesture to go with (give to an intern for experience ;)), or not bother. But not a crazy concept at all.

Sorry, meant crazy good not crazy stupid.
It's not hard to do and would show more commitment.
Just drop the java side of it and good to go.
Would just be an app, not like it needs to be baked into the OS.

Can you play the disks via VLC on XO?
XO may not allow access to the drive.

Then XO would have limited support for 3 generations of Xbox games and support for HD-DVD (limited), BluRay, UHD BluRay

That would be cool. I got the 360hd drive back then for 15 bucks new and still have a few HDDVD movies.
