Seems a lot of you are remembering better their cards than their girls

Well, the things you deal with more are more likely to be remembered...

I'm currently using your "slick" TNT2 (what's Ultra? for tnt) and boy is it slick...
32mb of shiny sdr memory hardly able to push my regular internet surfing and stutters every time more than three windows with graphics are open.
Only works with 66.93 and below, a joy to all stubborn "hang on there's still some juice in this baby" people....

The TNT2 Ultra was a higher-clocked version of the TNT2.

There were actually four versions of the TNT2, if I remember correctly:
    TNT2 Vanta
    TNT2 M64
    TNT2
    TNT2 Ultra

The Vanta didn't last very long because it had very poor performance. The M64 is the one that sold into most machines because it was a low-cost product that still offered reasonable performance (approximately that of the original TNT, or one Voodoo2 in 3D).

All TNT2's should be superb at handling 2D acceleration, though. It's likely a problem with something else in your system if there is stuttering, such as not enough RAM.

Drumroll, please! Well, actually.. it's a sort of short list. Included are the "games I bought this card to play.."

    1998: Voodoo Rush (Quake II)
    1999: Voodoo3 (Quake III)
    2000: Voodoo5 (Quake III again)
2001: GeForce3 (Quake III yet again, but mostly RTC-Wolfenstein)
2004: Radeon 9800 Pro (Doom III. Same day purchase..)
2005: GeForce 6800GT (Quake IV, and everything else until then)

I've also had this GeForce2 Pro, but it was in my other case the whole time. My brother's PC. Now, he has the 9800 Pro.

Where is "I am using both Nvidia and ATI cards now" option for people with multiple high-end systems?

Then I would assume you should post your "main" rig or the primary card you game on. If you split your time evenly between the two I guess you don't qualify for the poll  You can only cover so many bases when making a poll and it's inevitable that a few special cases will be left out. That is why you should always include an "other" option

    1990 TI 99/4a

1997 Packard Bell P200 with S3 Virge 325PCI 2MB...it was slow when it was new(belonged to grandparents, but it was the first PC that I could really do stuff with)

Late 1998 HP P2 350 with Rage Pro 8MB(belonged to parents..but was really for my amusement)

Early 1999 Added 12MB Voodoo2 to the HP

    Mid 2000 first PC I built Athlon 800/Abit KA7 with Voodoo5

Late 2001 damn Abit motherboard caps blew...so up to Athlon 1.33/Epox 8kta3 and the V5

Late 2003 Got a Radeon 9600 on Best Buy's day after Thanksgiving sale for $75 (not bad considering that their 9550SE is $95 right now)

Early 2004 Switched motherboards to Abit NF7-S v2.0

Mid 2004 Upgraded to AthlonXP 3200+

Next up...X800XL AGP probably...and then wait for dual core to get more common/cheaper and WinXP 64bit to be bug fixed a bit more and have better drivers

    1st 3D card: 3Dlabs Permedia2 4MB AGP, ran Quake2 at about 16fps, but I loved it.
2nd: Asus nVidia Riva 128 4MB AGP (first nvidia card!!!)
    3rd: 3dfx Voodoo3 2000 AGP (Unreal in Glide OMG!!!)
4th: nVidia Geforce 32MB DDR (Quake 3 rock on)
5th: nVidia Geforce2 Ti 64MB (meh, speed bump but not great)
    6th: ATi Radeon 8500 64MB (nice card!)
    7th: Leadtek nVidia Geforce4 Ti 4200 128MB (nice card!)
8th: Gainward nVidia Geforce FX 5900 VIVO 128MB (nice, but not fab, should have got a 9800SE and modded it to a Pro).

I'm going to a laptop soon (selling the desktop), so no more upgrades! The plan is to get a geforce G0 6600 or Radeon X700. Maybe not a big increase from the 5900, but it should run Doom3 just fine.

My system is fine (AthlonXp 2400+,512mb ram, A7N8X deluxe), the card is very old and is the source of the problem. Before my 9700 pro fudged I never had this kind of behaviour. Even todaay using a borrowed MX440 the system doesn't display this behaviour.
it's what you'd call a backup no other chioce card...I had to give the MX back.....
BTW this kind of lame behaviour froma tnt2 is something I witness a lot at the shop so it's nothing extraordinary...

Ah, if you're noticing it a lot at the shop, it must be an M64, the budget version. That may be the issue. I don't remember my TNT 16MB displaying such problems.
