Rich boy! I was sooo envious of everyone who had a C64, I went ElfII to VIC20. :?

You bought an FX?!? You're gaming on an FX NOW?!?!?

Seriously? You have my sympathies. I just got done fixing up a 5950 ultra and I bloody hated every second I had it in my rig and I couldn't get done testing it fast enough to get it out!

I don't game that much. I bought Doom3 and Farcry and HL2, havent finished either of them. I bought it mainly because Maya works better on Nvidia cards.
The Commodore 64 was cool, a total fucking pain in the ass, not sure i've actually ever played a game through on it before having it crash miserably with those fucking tapes and all that crap.
My gaming needs were satisfied by my NES and then a Genesis which just magically worked.

and my list cleary shows that I am Matrox and Bitboys biased, right? ;)

to speak the truth, I have been hunting Pyramid3D for a while now. I do have already 2 AXE (aka. Avalanche3D) chips, but no card, so I left it out.

I started out with this if I recall correctly:

    ATI Rage II (integrated)
    Diamond Multimedia Monster 3D (Voodoo)
    Voodoo 3
    Guillemot Voodoo Banshee 16Mb
    Voodoo 5500 (I preorderd a 6000 but ... u all know what happened)
Voodoo Rampage (ready for production but nvidia obviously cancelled the product after mismangement killed off 3dfx)
    Nvidia TNT2 16Mb
    ATI 8500
    Radeon 64MB DDR
    Leadtek Geforce2 MX 64MB
    RivaTNT vanta 16Mb
ATI 9700 (broke when my psu blew up)
XfX Gforce Fx 5200 128 Mb
    Gforce Fx 5500 128 Mb

I don't really like nvidia cards due to drivers and compatibilty problems, also I prefer the colors and stability of current ATI cards but when I needed a replacement (somehow almost always unexpected) nvidia cards where just a lot cheaper with a acceptable performance.

My next card definately will be a ATI R520 in my new system:

    ANTEC plusview (AMG 1000)
PSU Antec Neopower of 500 Watt ATX12V v2.0 PSU
    Mobo not decided
    Vidcard R520 based
    CPU AMD 64 3500 (?)
    1024 DDR RAM
    2* Rapter 2 Raid
    DVD not decided
    DVD burner not decided
Samsung Monitor 19'' CRT (LCD still suck with gaming for one)
