My computer has an Athlon 64 X2 4200 and 2g memory. I just disabled the Radeon Xpress 200 and put in a 7600 gt oc with the latest updated drivers. Now I'm getting little freezes and skips with that "gurgle" the computer gives off when it's processing a lot whenever I play video. It was smoother with the cra##y graphics controller! I recently did the AMD dual core patch stuff as well; the patch, dc optimizer, and hotfix. Any ideas?

Try reinstalling the program you use to play back your videos.

Well, it happens with different types of videos in different players. It's universal. Whether it's flash from youtube or WMP stuff.

I had this video skipping problem as well (though mind appears out of no where), I rebooted my comp and the problem hasn't appear since.

Thanks anyway, but I've restarted a few times and had the comp off since I noticed it.

It may be down to some sort of codec issue - try uninstalling any extraneous codecs on the system (e.g. Xvid and Divx) and try again.
Does it happen when playing any video file or specific ones?
Try a DVD movie, an MPG file, a MOV file and AVI file.

If it happens on all the files then I personally would do a repair install of Windows before trying anything else. A bit drastic I know...

What does a windows reapir do? Is that the one where all my files remain but all my programs won't work because all the "guts" of everything get wiped away?

No, it rebuilds the registry and all your programs and links remain.
Press "R" on the second prompt to repair Windows during installation.

Oh and what about the drivers and stuff on equipment that didn't come with the computer, does that get messed up?

Did you cleanly uninstall the ATI video drivers before installing the nvidia drivers? Have you tried a different set of nvidia drivers?

Yeah, I wonder if fully uninstalling rather than just disabling the IGP would solve this.

Did you by a chance buy the 7600gt on e-bay?
