Using Foobar (Lame 3.97) to rip a cd

Hi,

How do I extract the CD information and name the files accordingly? I see no option in foobar's preferences.

Hmmm? Foobar should tag automatically for you.

that's what I thought, however, foobar didn't tag the tracks..

Could you get the cd info from freedb (see image below) or is foobar not writing the correct tags when it converts your files to mp3?

I used the option Tagging -> Reload info from file.

foobar insists with the name "cd track 01.mp3".......

I am assuming you'll simply need to grab the tags from freedb. I never tag files using the program I rip with, instead I use Tag&Rename, which is rather advanced (and costs money) but is easily the best way to handle my thousands and thousands of songs maintaining strict tags and strict file names.

Wow I feel dumb. Sorry mito, I forgot the freedb tagger is an optional component. Here you go. Hopefully my second screenshot makes more sense now.
