US Job Search Sites

Hi folks. I'm moving to the US in a few weeks and wanting to know the decent job search sites available. I've gone through quite a few national and local and their quality differs quite a lot. Here in OZ we have only a few major ones which are used by a majority of companies, with a few other specialised ones as well.

Anyone able to advise me what are some of the major career sites? Looking at IT System Admin/Network Support careers specifically. Will be living in PA if that helps for state specific sites.

I've always heard monster.com was a good site, but I've never used it. I have mostly been just applying to companies I know of.

You could look on most company web sites and they should have a jobs link with listing and most likely a way for you to submit an electronic resume.

I'm entering on a fiance VISA as i'm marrying an american. I'll be able to apply for a work permit as soon as I enter the country and will have permanent residency as soon as I can after we get married (which I'll then have to apply for another work permit...)

That monster.com looks quite good, much better than half the ones i've visited, thanks. I'm also getting a list of prospective companies in the area I might want to work for.

You should also try careerbuilder.com as they seem to be just as good as Monster.com in most aspects.

They have a good listing of jobs from what I can tell.

Where exactly in PA will you be living? I know Comcast hires IT, network support, and admin positions quite frequently. That might be a good place for you to look.

http://www22.verizon.com/about/careers/ This would be a starting point for Verizon, which is a huge telephone company laying out a lot of iber optics in the PA region now. I am sure they are looking for good people.

I'd be interested in eharing anything anyone has on NYC or new england in general. My medium term ambition is to get work and move to the states.
