with pci express, socket 939, and btx coming out, its rly hard to decid eon an upgrade plan. i have a 2.6c, 1gb ddr400, 9800 pro. i would rly like the x800xt but with it only available in agp currently, i could get stuck with an agp motherboard. i also want to upgrade to an athlon 64 but socket 939 is coming out, but i keep reading about amds plans to drag it out and stick with socket 754. dotn even know where btx fits in. what are your thoughts?

If you are determined to be an early adopter of pci-e, btx, 939/775. Your only solution is to wait. It's warm in the summer, you can go outside. Personally I am going to wait till fall to upgrade. I will let some people with too much money work the kinks out on all the new tech.
