Some interesting bits:

Epic Games' Gears of War may be the fastest selling Xbox 360 game ever, and it may have ousted Halo 2 from the top slot on Xbox Live, but this week sees it knocked down the UK All-Formats game chart to number three--after only one week at the top. FIFA 07 is back in the top slot, with Need for Speed Carbon idling at number two.

I guess the sharp drop in Gears of War sales shows that pretty much everyone with a 360 bought the game in the first week, and now there's not many people left without it...

What are actual sales like though? eg. If GOW sold 200,000 last week, and sold 190,000 this week but FIFA sold more, it'd come lower in the charts without being a drop in sales caused by everyone owning it.

Though it woudn't come as a surprise if every XB360 owner bought it already, I'd hope the 3rd spot in the UK sales charts is more then just token sales. Otherwise the UK games industry must suck, with a top-ten slot accounting for negligable revenues!

Well i was being a bit extreme, obviously not "everyone" bought it in the first week :D

That article presents the news a bit differently from Gamasutra: http://www.gamasutra.com/php-bin/news_index.php?story=11866

The Gamespot article suggests that the PS2 versions of FIFA and NFS are outselling Gears whereas the Gamasutra article presents it as an all formats chart where combined sales across all platforms for those two games are greater than Gears. The Gamasutra article says that Gears is the only single platform title in the top 10, which is pretty good considering the 360s relatively small install base.

Ya, the gamespot chart is wrong, the games in the top 10 are not the PS2 versions of the games, but all platforms, which makes sense.
