Today's Upgrade

Mark

aka Ratchet
Regular
We've upgraded from Vbulletin 3.6.0 to 3.6.4. Things went rather smoothly, but if you notice any issues please post them here.

There were a few things tweaked in 3.6.1 but nothing significant. From 3.6.0 to 3.6.4 was mostly bug fixes and security updates.

That's a good question

Any feature upgrades or more fun bells & whistles? :-|
The white background is actually rendered with a HDRR, the smilies are now SM4.0 compliants (heavy use of Geometry Shaders,) and the SQL entries are now made of 32KiB batches instead of 128KiB like they used to be, this more precise granularity allows better, and more importantly faster, implementations of Forum effects such as Annoying Troll Fetching (ATF) or the overused but crowd favorite still, the Straw Reaching Mapping (SRM).

Definitely REP worthy, but alas, not able to do so in this forum.

Ever since the big jumpt to vb 3.6, any/all updates have been painless for my forums, even on the ones with dozens of addons and plugins. It's really a nice system they have going.

Yep it is, besides the uploading of files and backing up of the database, the actual upgrading procedure took less than a minute.
