Heh, not being on my own machine I actually wondered about that too for a couple of seconds when I first saw it...I thought it just hadn't remembered all my settings or something.

This software is starting to grow on me, I'm loving how they're disabling all the crap (avatars/sig picts/etc) while leaving in all the unknowns (ratings/reputation) and are getting it down to substance over style again.

B3D forums shouldn't be super flashy, that just increases the noise in the signal/noise ratio....but the powers that be are doing a most excellent job of finding a new balance IMHO. :)

just to add a new insight:

the more I use this board the less I like it :|

dunno why, but it really is harder to read  & longer it lasts more apparent this becomes :?

    I agree. I think it's the font.

I think that'll improve when they add some more styles to choose from, I'm hoping they're working on a "classic B3D" style that works hard to emulate the old boards look.

How "classic"? Circa '99 black & orange?

Well it's improved a lot in the last couple of days, with the new layout and so on. I'm not having a problem with the fonts, and the new editor is nice, but for me it's worth its weight in gold for that "new posts" option under the quicklinks menu.

Only thing I'm missing from the old version is the page number counter in forum's frontpage. It used to be something like this: My thread (1, 2, 3, ... 16) and now it only shows My thread (1, 2, 3).

Apologies if this has been covered before, but is there a way to disable viewing custom fonts (similar to how we can disable viewing sigs)?

Obviously bold and italics and color are useful, but I don't care for entire posts being rendered in differently-sized and -emphasized text (examples here). So, maybe a way to automatically remove font tags that appear at the beginning and end of posts?

Yes, this is a picky request, but I think it's on a level with changing the forum colors (which I'd like, too) or disabling sigs (very handy).

It may be the font, but it may also be the harsher color contrasts. The dark blue strip above every post really disrupts the thread flow/readability, IMO. You can see in Vysez's handy pic that the old forum's default colors were much softer, and it had different colors for main and sub-headings.

But I liked the old font better, too. :)

The thing that bugs me about this font is that it doesn't have proper italics, it just obliques the roman. God, I'm a fuss-pot! :D

In the "New Posts", could the "Forum" info be moved to the left of the "topic" name ?
Would be much more logic to me...
    (ie Category - Topic)

Yeah but that would be a global thing though, not just specific to this board.

In your user control panel select the advanced view and you can change everyting just for that forum or post.

Anyone else notice a severe slowdown on the board since the software switch? Not a software slowdown, but people just not posting as much?

Is it because I haven't been online much this week, the new software not being so popular, or Neeyik putting on the iron glove for the RPS&C lounge? :|
