    What does this do? and does making it higher make graphics better?

    Making it lower will make textures sharper.

    Try it at -1 or -2.

    read this somewhere:

    image_useCache "1"
    image_cacheMegs "x" (1/4 of your ram)
    image_cacheMinK "y"
    y=x/8*1024
    -or-
    simplified: y=x*128

    The "excellent" cfg gave me some bad pauses at 1600x1200, no AA in some of the bigger fights and in some room transitions. That is with a 6800 Ultra (a real one), P4 3.0C and 1GB of PC3500, using surround sound on an M-Audio Revolution.

    It looked nice though. :p

    Okay... someone knows how to run a timedemo in looping on Doom3? Just like in Q3 for testing the computer stability...

    Everyone knows that adding a 'usecache' after the demo name in timedemo will enable precaching of the game data.
    But I found, that you can use any word instead 'usecache'
    so
    timedemo demo1 haveaniceday
    or
    timedemo demo1 q
    will work fine.

    Yet another Shader change,
    at the bottom:

    MUL result.color, color, fragment.color; //old
    -->
    MUL result.color.xyz, color, fragment.color; //new

    I don't know why, but fps increased on my 9800 pro from 43.3 to 44.1 :roll:

    xp2500+; 1GB Ram;
    Cat 4.8final
    1024*768; 16AF; 00AA; Vsync off;

    Making that change should enable co-issuing, but with what else? I really don't know.

    BAD idea. This will also dramatically increase texture aliasing. Given the highly repetitive nature of many of Doom 3's textures, well, you'll get shimmering all over the place if you set this.

    And a LOD bias of -1 is huge. One of -2 is just insane.
