    GT5 wouldn't be GT5 without being near photorealistic :).
As mentioned by Kaz, TGS is supposed to unveil some new advancement in GT5 similar to how they showed damage at Gamescom, I wonder if it would be the new weather effect?

If there will be weather, expect it to be awesome.

My guess is they will show more advanced damage and and different gaming modes at TGS. I expect the dynamic weather to come as an update after the final release.

I expect a releasedate, finally... no real GT in over 3 years after launch is annoying and frustrating.

I just came across this. Nothing new, but a really nice composite video on how realistic the clutch work already is on GT5 Prologue with the G25 wheel. I expect I'll buy a G27 for GT5 at some point near to or after GT5's release.

There are mixed impressions regarding which of the two wheels is better. Check reviews before you purchase. G25 will be cheaper now so probably it wont worth it to pay more for something that isnt necesarily better. G27 tried to improved some things over G25 but as a result kind of broke some other

Is it the shifter(no sequential mode) you are talking about being borked in g27 or something else?

That was one of them, but there were also a few other minor ones I cant remember.

The overal quality between the two seems to be almost even or not considerably large enough based on what I read

I had only seen one review, and that only had plus points - e.g. more durable and silent turning/force feedback system, adjustable pedal location (big deal for me with my big feet), and a few other small points. The small pedals actually turned me off the first time I tried the G25, was very hard not to press two pedals at once for me.

I'll definitely read more reviews before I buy it, and hopefully maybe even get to try the G27. Who knows we'll still get a GT branded version, or the Fanatec turns out to be good enough to the point where being able to share it between the PS3 and the 360 would win me over.

But yeah, a good deal on the G25 looks likely in the coming months, so I'll definitely still check that out as well.

I really hope they copy some of what NFS:Shift has done with the in-car view. Looking at Forza and GT in-car views after Shift they really dont come anywhere close

What do you mean, exactly? Do you mean the head-movement / blurring? Or anything else?

One thing I noticed straight off is there is some bumpiness in the in-cabin view with Shift. I guess they're simulating bumps in the road, which makes it seem much more authentic. Forza and GT both seem like you're driving on glass, and the driver's head never moves.

Yep head movement primarily. GT/Forza in car views just seem way too static. When actually playing shift the effect is a lot nicer than what you get from the videos. The blurring is a very nice effect when actually playing also.

So yes, the head-movement. ;) I'll wait and see what the finishing games bring. Forza's shown stuff like moving the head forward when braking / back when accellerating as well, and it will be interesting to see what head-tracking will bring to GT5, for instance.

The blurring, by the way, may be a nice effect, but I have a feeling that I agree with Eurogamer (7/10) that it's just really impractical (if you're driving on a straight and you're watching your speed to see if you're picking up that drag from the driver in front of you yet for instance) and unrealistic (fine if it was related to depending on where I look, but even at high speeds I can actually see what my dials read). Shift went for some cool pyrotechnics and they did a commendable job. It's similar to what PGR3 already did, basically and that was a cool effect also.

I have a feeling though that for me the head-movement that head-tracking brings will be plenty.

The problem with head-tracking alone is that movement is volantary. The great thing about what Shift is doing is that it gives you feedback from the game. It gives you a visual representation of the forces involved.

yes that GT5P cockpit looks static, but the latest one are much better.

nfs:shift has nice cockpit but that game is so aracadey and boring, it is grid clone I think by EA

Its not arcadey, not even close. [unless you play with assists on & easy handling]
Its right up there with the best sims.

Btw I really like the Head movement in Shift, its overdone imo the view moves a lot even in plain straight road & that is completely wrong cause when I drive a car like Bugatti Veyron it should not shake that often but its still great to see it.

I would say its more similar to PGR than something like Forza/GT, or something half-way inbetween at least.

Took my car out for a spin earlier just to compare and it certainly is shakey pretty much all the time, though i do drive a FTO so the suspension is slightly sportier than your average saloon. Try it next time you go for a spirited drive, i was suprised at how "bobbley" it was to be honest once i was paying attention to it.

GTpsp is getting really bad reviews: there is no singleplayer mode.

I hope this does not mean bad news for GT5 :(

No single player mode ? :D
You might want to re-read the reviews.

    IGN Review: 6.8/10
    Eurogamer: 7/10
    VideoGamer: 9/10
    ArsTechnica: 9/10

Those who don't like it criticized that there is no career mode, and no online infrastructure mode. Perhaps it's time to bring Adhoc Party over. :p

    EDIT:
    CVG: 6.7/10
