Oh wouldn't that just be the bees knees if come release time we find out that report was 100% true, and was only showing the MIDRANGE model. Crushing defeat, ahoy. :???:

Giggles, screams of frustration, forum implosions... uh yeah. I don't think a midrange model is possible with what they are saying... but an XL version? While unlikely, ATI is in a more "desperate" situation with a couple of delays and the need to show "superiority" again instead of letting NV get in too many "ahead/draw-carry over" points. Their marketshare has been slipping, especially the midrange cards, so I think some aggressive tactics are necessary.

aggresive tactics means taking higher risks, the more the risks the harder the possible fall  . AMD has to be careful, thier situation isn't as rosey as it was a year ago, heavy competition in thier main bread maker, CPU's and taking heavy risks in GPU isn't condusive, the delay of the r600 might have been to reduce that risk but with Vista its very volitile. And one month from launch to the last respin, is that enough to get enough stock of r600's for a hard launch? Its possible they probably would have had to take a risk here, if they feel confident of yeilds at desired performance.

Oh yeah, if the midrange R6xx model is 230W there will certainly be some screams alright. :yep2:

Well, we've been expecting a 300W enthusiast card for quite a long time now, so why not?

Will we see the return of the external power supply for graphics?

I sure hope so. I love things like that...I loved the external psu on the Voodoos, and I loved the external dongle for X1k crossfire. Only anal-retentives have big problems with that kind of stuff...I see it as 'extreme compooting'. I just love it

Considering how big my PC Power and Cooling 1k Watt PSU is I wouldnt be surprised if we see other alternatives.

Maybe it could have integrated refrigeration for the air flow to keep the card cool!

Last I heard, it's not the R600 Random Bullshit Centrum. The only thing that's interesting here is that it makes people discuss their expectations; it'd be a good idea not to base those on that crap, though.

And for anyone who doesn't get it yet... How likely is that they get (nearly) the EXACT same scores in some of these games, especially Oblivion? Obvlivion would mean they're running the same demos AND getting a lot of luck since it has high variability. Furthermore, how likely is it that they also decided to benchmark Anno 1701 on their own - a german game, which no other site I'm aware of even included in their G80 review?

This thing is a complete fraud, and they didn't even run a single benchmark for the non-R600 cards; and in the case of the R600, it's just random scores these people pulled out of their ass for "fun". double yay?

Hellbinder @ Rage3d says that these specs and benchmarks are correct.

And he's right 'most' of the time.

Well, you either trust Hellbinder or you don't. And he has been wrong before, but he rarely states something as fact unless he's 100% sure.

I think it's pretty clear they are.

And I'm really getting tired of the swearing and bellyaching from the crew that claims they aren't. Is it possible to just, not curse while making your point? We understand you're mad because the guy took a few shots at Nvidia, and his scores show a superior card. Get over it.

If these specs are real, or any of them are real, lets say B3D's brain trust and staff just got owned, and hard. And lost, a lot of credibitly. And at this point I'm pretty sure they're mostly real (I think there will be a few errors, that those people will point at and say aha we old you so, to save face, while the majority is true).

It's amazing how many ppl "want to believe" despite the many logical faults present in that review that were pointed out in the last few pages

    Are you a comedian? :)

This shit is just a random conglomerate of rumours already present on the net. NOTHING is new, and nothing that'd feel possibly wrong (such as clock speeds) is in the "specs" list. Even if those specs were correct (hint: at least part of it is not!), it wouldn't mean anything. They give no good indication of performance, and a random guesswork would have had just as high a chance of being correct. Furthermore, it's extremely safe to say these benchmarks are even more shit; they didn't run them, not even for the other cards.

And "or any of them are real" is amusing. If I came up with a random list of bullshit, it's fairly obvious at least some of it is bound to be correct, either because part of the spec was a given or because I was downright lucky. That doesn't mean the list isn't a gigantic joke, though. And Hellbinder is not reliable, in case you're still too naive to have figured that one out by now.
