It seems to be a pretty regular occurence that people are taking MMORPGs far too seriously and coming to blows - especially in the far East, it seems. I guess as the games get more absorbing the gap between reality and fantasy becomes more blurred...
There are many "virtual theft" cases in Taiwan, but no killing occured. In Taiwan, stealing "virtual goods" is illegal if the victim sues. The involved law is not theft, but something like "unauthorized access to computer records."
well in the first place it is amazing that he managed to sell it for over a thousand bucks there, when the averaga monthly wage is in the region of 80 bucks... so he killed him for about year and a half worth of wages, and well the sentimental value as well...
