Surround Sound Headphones?

Recently, I have been hearing alot about 5.1 surround sound headphones. Seeing as how doom 3 sounds best on 5.1, these 'phones are starting to look interesting.

However, I use teamspeak and ventrilo alot for games...so i need a microphone.

Wireless is a plus too, but not essential -- can anyone reccomend a good pair w/ surround sound, a mic, and mabye even wireless?

That's not surround, only stereo.

Zalman ZM-RS6F Surround Sound Headphones @ Silent PC Review - this is one of the few products which actually have 6 speakers inside.

SunnyTech Mentor 5.1 Surround Headphone @ FastLaneHW - this is also a real 6-speaker set and these guys tested a Zalman earlier.

One guy had Zalman AND Kinyo and he said Kinyo is better from these two.

Seems iSound = Speed-Link Medusa.
Kinyo also the same set but lacks the mic.

What ever happened to 3D sound API's? I know back in the day with A3D plain old stereo headphones gave you the most incredible audio experience possible. I thought DirectSound3D picked up where that left off.

Sorry I'm just a bit surprised to see the concept of headphones with multiple speakers, since with headphones you have a really damn good idea of where the user's ears/head are going to be in relation to the speakers, aka it's easy to hit the sweat spot with out using many speakers.

I think the thing is that API programming takes up much more time & energy than these 5.1 HT-sets or now even multi-headphones' cost present at the customer side.

That's a total of 8 speakers! Hmmm, it's far the best: I guess it's F/C/R + a dedicated subwoofer on each side?

Yeah, I got the Gainwards for another week or so and me bro just dropped his Sennheiser HD280 Pros on me to compare 'em against. (Not surround, but not shabby either. )

I think I just got the Doom3 surround sound problem taken care of, so I should be doing some testing later.

Couldn't make out if the Kinyo was really the same as the Medusa. Setup looks the same, but is it just a face lift or more?

EDIT: After checking the specs they look like they're the same, except the Medusa has a mic.
