Strange video problem

Hey guys I was hoping you could help me out here.

My friend (who doesn't play PC games but merely uses his computer for designing purposes) has the LG 246wp screen and a geforce 9600gt. The problem is that if he doesn't install the nvidia drivers, the desktop is all blurry and basically impossible to work with and yet it looks fine (not stretched or anything) whilst if he does install them, the desktop stretches and the start button for instance becomes only half-visible and it only happens through HDMI (analog is fine). Thing is, it can only be connected through HDMI or Analog - no in-betweens! The other ones we tried work perfectly.

Any ideas guys? Thx a tons!

Uh...does the monitor have an "auto-adjust" feature? Is the ini for the monitor installed?

That's odd... We have the same monitor in the office here, and it's connected through DVI. The monitor even came with the DVI and VGA cable... At any rate, check for a 1:1 pixel mapping mode in the monitor options.

Apparently button 4 is auto/ok and can be used to have the monitor run an auto set-up.
