When uploading a stop motion animated commercial to youtube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QDvDtJ7pp0A) a friend noticed there was an option to turn it into 3D, or rather "to render" it into 3D. My question is: is it possible to turn stop motion into 3D when it is done with two dimensional flat objects rather than 3D objects?

    Cheers,

Yes the objects will still be 2 dimensional in 3D but depth between them can change, for example one subject seams to be near you then the other.
