I guess LucasArts was worried about people missing their game on Steam so they needed to write it out in all caps. Oh, apparently it's capped at 30fps again.

    Anyone actually buy this?

Given how shitty the first one was on PC, I'll strongly advise AGAINST buying this.
(The bad reviews the console version got just make it a "don't buy under any circumstances" thing.)

I bought the first one for $15 and have only worked through a couple of levels. It's just boring really... Too "arcadey" for me. The technical aspects of the port don't bother me much actually. It's the game itself that's lacking.

I used my Xbox 360 PC gamepad though so maybe I missed out on horrific controls. But hell I can barely handle how the game controls in general regardless of control scheme. ;)

Well not a holiday but Steam is having a Square-Enix (Eidos) pack sale right now for all their titles on Steam for 74.99 USD. Includes all DLC available on Steam also. 88% off the price compared to buying each title individually.

    Regards,
    SB

    Ep2 is $2 on Steam today. I couldn't resist completing my HL2 collection as $2 is a fair price for Ep2, I think. ;)

It's a fun little romp and definitely worth playing for fans of the series.

I really enjoyed the outdoors bits of Ep.2, that's the best bits of the entire Half-Life series, when you get to go outside for a while and have some fresh air. :) Well, I didn't really enjoy the cliff-face bit in the original H-L, but that's probably the one exception... (Also, I don't count Xen as "outdoors". :D)

I hated the final battle of Ep 2, so my favorite is HL², then Ep1, and last Ep2.
Also stealing control from me to be able to hurt Alyx is mean and lame and deserve kicks between legs...
    No less :p

Right. I forgot all about that bit... Yes, it's my least favorite part of the game, by far. Heck, any of the HL2 series games. Very very stressful, and not fun at all. Only bit I dislike roughly that much are the antlion bits of original HL2, and the helicopter canal chase bits, also from HL2.

It breaks their own game design conventions that they established in the very first HL... I'm just waiting for Gordon starting to talk any second now.

They just released the Gothic 3 Forsaken Gods Enhanced Edition. A shit ton of fixes as well as a lot of graphics fixes and enhancements. To go along with the release, all Gothic games on Steam are 75% off, including Arcania. So glad I wait out games on Steam.

Yeah good deal. I bought it for $25 soon after release and haven't played 5 seconds of it yet. I should've known better :)

I got really far in and got stuck on a bullshit escort mission. But it is an interesting corridor shooter style STALKER experience with some intense and exciting times.

Ass Creed deals today, 2nd one is 10$. Anyone know if this has the Ubi always on DRM, or can it be played offline?

Nice. I've been waiting forever to try AssCreed and its sequel for cheap.

I'd like to know this as well.

EDIT: On the Steam forums people are saying you still need to register at ubisoft.com and also need an internet connection every time you start the game. It means Steam's offline mode is useless with these games. No sale from me.

I'm cordially inviting you guys to continue this discussion on our Politics & Ethics of Tecnology forum. Let's leave this one for Steam sales. Btw, that Capcom... um... post-thingie is worth a new thread. </hint>

I pruned off most of the DRM discussion into an existing thread Always Online DRM for now.
