Static cam perfect IQ?!?

As time has passed and i've played many a ps2 game.... I've noticed that when the camera goes stationary(during some scenes, areas, replays, etc...). The background is free from almost any IQ defect, and if it's at a good angle u don't even get ANY aliasing.
Why do u think this is?
Why don't dev.s take advantage of this... **cough**cough** rpg dev.s**cough**cough**?
I mean if u can get prerendered quality IQ in exchange for camera movements, it's a worthy trade.

No movement resultls in nigh elimination of noticeable aliasing.

Certainly not worth it IMO for most games. Certain titles it can work for, most it won't.

Yeah, but i haven't seen it used much through a game. I mean they could've at least used that technique in many of the earlier ps2 games which seemed to suffer from low IQ, but they didn't. Early rpgs and games like DMC could very well have used that technic.
