Surveillance Station and Planetary Fortress. Check out Starcraft2.com. They've updated with some terran info. :)

It's somewhat scary how Blizzcon and Quakecon kinda dwarfed E3...

Its kinda scary how I had no clue Quakecon was even happening at the same time besides the Carmack keynotes in the Console forum. On the other hand, I was really keeping an eye on Blizzcon. I guess this comes down to it that I love Blizzard games far more than id games. Bring on Wrath of the Lich King and Starcraft II! Also the WoW 2.2 and 2.3 patches!!!!! Argh, I can't wait!

Not bringing new ideas? How about having 3 totally different factions in a RTS game (SC1)?
Introducing "heros" in a RTS game (WC3)? i dont remember any other games introducing this sort of idea first. Don't they count as being innovative in terms of gameplay?

Anyhow im excited about SC2. Haven't had an urge to buy a game in a long time. (4 years or so). After watching the new terran videos from blizzcon (its on gamespot etc), its starting to look more and more interesting. (the new ability of the supply depots !!!)

The thing i cant wait to see is how the pro gamers in SC will adapt to SC2. Watching games at their level is always entertaing especially how they employ whack strats/tactics, including sick micro/macromanegment. Personally, i cant wait til sc2 falls into the hands of the "terran emperor" if you know who he is.

    Age of Empires (1997)

    :p

But yeah, I'd say SC1 introduced a higher level of variation between factions.

They were really not that far off from each other by release date. As for which was better... Starcraft easily.

Did anything interesting at all come out of E3 this year? From what I saw it was just like, "here's some more shots of Crysis to complement the 2,503 that have been released this month already!" so I lost interest before the end.

mostly on the console front. there are about a hundred interesting-looking DS titles coming, a handful for each of the home consoles, and... Fallout and Spore, I guess. ;) ooh, and Space Siege! XD

Apparently, a few months ago, Bnet merged with WoW. Users had to change their user names to their email addresses and for doing so received an in-game pet:

I like the new Bnet, although I'm not sure what the future holds with the advent of Cataclysm. I'd like to see it utilized more in WoW. I like the chat feature. I have a lot of friends on different servers I'd like to chat with.

I hope Blizzard releases it on Steam, they don't currently have any games on Steam. And I no longer buy physical media period, and not interested in using other DD vendors.
