In that case they'll release a patch a month or two later to add SM2.0 and that's it.

If you are a fan of the series then the demo will get you all pumped up for the full game. I personally cant wait though the game has a lot of flaws as in need better smarter bad guys haha. Also the guns as i have posted before are quiet weak. Thats about it. I play at 1280 x 1024 I think and with 8x AA and it runs smooth like butter on my laptop. No oclock. I highly recommend the game series if you have not played it!!

The AI in the first two was pretty week. Everything I've read about CT says that this will be the game to break the trend.

Like you said in your post, from the looks of the demo, they still need some work.

The guns are intentionally weak. You should be only shooting at lights and alarms, not people.

Yeah I think my wife will ask me to buy it on XBox anyway.

Or she will buy it herself
    :D

I've seen screens with ps1.1 and the game looks gorgeous, the two previous ones were already very good on the TV screen.

    Thanks.

I dont know if that makes sense that the guns were made intentionally weak so as to avoid shooting people. I mean we have this gut carving knife now for gods sake! And on top of it they are tyring to make this game as realistic as is possible right with graphics and intense gameplay, so I am guessing guns should be realistically powerful to say the least. I mean what use is the gun then if I shoot at someones head only for them to run away from me and start and alarm?

BTW, for those of you that buy games not to play them but to only benchmark them, the retail version (= final build) will have a benchmarking feature. This demo (which I don't have currently) has broken benchmarking mode.

Not sure if I can reveal that but seems harmless to me.

Well, I don't know about you, but I get an orgasm every time I run 3dMark and see my score. Now benchmarking an actual game. . . Ooh, baby. . . 8)

Hardware reviewers? :p I've picked up titles I don't even like in the past just for the sake of benchmarking.

Alright alright my mistake. I believe you guys that people buy games just for the sake of reviewing hardware and not to enjoy them...there are all sorts of people in this world i suppose. Anyway, this game is tempting me to buy an Nvidia 6800 Ultra just so I can experience it the way the developers intended us gamers to.

I just compared the PS 1.1 version on X800 XT to the SM 3.0 version on the 6800 GT. HDR, tone mapping and parrallex mapping and are not on the PS 1.1 version :-(

Is there any change as PS 2.0/2.0b version being enabled via a patch?

I do like the stark looking lighing and showdowing it's signaficantly better than the previous Splinter Cells.

It's been confirmed to me -- the game does not have SM2.0 support.

Why would the developer not have any SM 2.X support? The installed base of SM 2.X cards is allot larger than SM 3.0. Are there any technical reasons for this or is it because of NVIDIA's influence?
