    No SM2.0? Bastards.

The engine is junk anyway, so it's not a big deal. If I want pretty and advanced visuals on my 9800pro, FC/HL2/D3 is what i'll play.

It wasn't our fault! We had nothing to do with it!

In Oct'2004, the plans were there to have SM2.0 support.

Is that something you knew secretly or is that something you can source?

I'm not meaning to be rude, I'm really curious....I'm getting a lot of conflicting reports on this one. :?

Favoring Nvidia against all the ATI users is not a wise decision... if there's no SM2 support, Ubi is going to face some flak from the hc gamer community.

Hey Danny, get off your lazy butt and add SM2.

I've got a download link, but I'm hesitant to post out of fear that it would be considered site pimping.

I played through the SP demo several times today and I'm absolutely blown away.

Only question I have though (forgive me if it's answered somewhere else and I just missed it):

I know the original SC and PT didn't support AA. Does CT? After looking back at my screenshots, lines look a lot more aliased now then they did in-game. Is it using some sort of temporal AA effect, instead?

Thanks, and lmk if I can post a download link.

    junk engine?!?!

Wow I really hope you are kidding. This is the Unreal 2.0 engine they used though well modified, and it is amazing that that engine is actually capable of all that stuff they have in the game! I read HDR and I only thought that a high end engine like Doom 3's and the Source engine were only capable of that. But yeah i agree Danny add SM2!! I want! I want! I want! Maybe they will pull a Crytek and launch a patch after the game release and when after everyone has beaten the game a gazillion times over that enables SM 2.0. Curious about HDR I thought ATI cards cant deal with it?!

You're going to accuse people of laziness when you don't have the dedication to read the whole thread and find that they are making a SM2.0 version? Sad. Just sad.

You can enable AA & AF under the advanced options, I gotta admit that the game looks pretty good on my X800 @ 1280x960 4xAA 8xAF. :)

I wouldn't post the link to the demo here. Anyone who really wants it here could probably find it and I know quite a few people here who frown on any type of leaks.

Who is making a SM2.0 Version? Ubi?

No the don't do it and after I have see how the SM3 path is done I can understand it. Surely it is unfortunate but as a developer they have the right to select the weapons. Now the player have the right not to buy it.

Tried the demo on a Athlon Xp2200+ and a 256 bits 9500. Runs like ass at 800x600 no AA.

    Re: junk engine?!?!

Radeons are able to do HDR but as the missing FP16 blending as a feature it is more complicated to use within a real game. The procedure is sometimes called "ping pong" because you have to emulate the blending with two buffers which are used in the change and additional pixelshader instructions. Most developers don't like this.

I thought for sure I had seen concrete evidence in this thread that SM2.0 was a go. Apparently it was at one point and is now out, or something like that.

Does anyone have an official word on this, or is it still highly substantiated speculation?
