some more details (old news?) about PPU.

credible?
No idea, but let's hope so.
i thought it was gonna be plain pci. do most mboards have the slots for say an additional pci-e chip?

This might be problematic for people with SLI. I don't know any mainboards off hand that can take an aditional PCIe card when used in SLI mode due to physical layout. Even with PCI you would be cramped as I believe the norm is two PCI slots on the far corner and surely one will be used for audio.

that's what i was wondering. at least cramped.

I've got my lone PCIe 1x slot ready and waiting for a PPU for months now. Hopefully this rumor will be true, I'd really hate having to wait even longer for a PCIe version than old crappy PCI...

Indeed. I'm all out of PCI slots, but have plenty of PCI-Express...
