Sega's development studios

Does anyone know the *exact* history of *all* Sega development studio's (both internal as external studios), from the period 1975-ish - 2004 (present)?
I am trying to write something about Sega's first studio's, how they evolved during the years, split up, joined others, became independent, most prominent figures within the ranks of the teams,...

Any information is welcome. I thank you.

Well, Google is always the answer, but I imagine you can get a lot of good specific links from summa the folk on here. ;)

This is what Sega itself has to say, though. There are a lot of "general info" sites, which may not exactly be what you're looking for. But the more you find and put together, the more complete your knowledge. ^_^

Not much good information there, but if you want to get to the bottom of it go to System16.com and see if you can find the devs of the arcade games. Alwaysgame.com and the people on that forum may be able to help you. I could dig up some info but it may take some time considering I'm not completely familiar with every little on eof SEGA's past efforts and teams, although OI am very familiar with STI.

evil, check it out with Fishie (you know him no?) a Sega freak he is , he should be able to answer some questions for you

Yeah, I even know him personally. (or at least I met him a few times ;))
I asked him, but he said he doesn't know everything. He knows of a few things, but not everything. I'll just ask him when I need additional information. :)

I've searched up some information, but I am far from complete. It'll take some time, but I will have some chronological timeline of Sega's development teams some day! :)

Wow, thanks a bunch Johnny Awesome, now I can look for details of each studio. :)

If anyone has details on the really old studios (like team andromedia, now Smilebit), or about external development studio's like Red Entertainment, please tell.

Well, Appaloosa is responsible for Ecco.

Yeah, but they are independent, aren't they? And what about Amuze (Headhunter & Headhunter Redemption)?

Also, what did the AM studios did before they changed names, anyone can tell more about that?

what AM division / Sega team did the original coin-op arcade
Galaxy Force / Galaxy Force II from 1988 which used the same board as Power Drift (also 1988) and G-Loc (1990) ??

I believe the early 1990s console conversions (MD/Genesis, FM Towns Marty) were done by CRI, but I'm unsure about the coin-op verrsion.

and I have the exact same question about the 1987 coin-op Thunder Blade..
