Rub the Spammers nose in it!

Castrating spammers would rock. This is the first positive step AOL have taken in about 10 years, i nearly chortled when i found out..

If a company sends me unsolicited investement advice (obviously spam because all the addresses are spoofed), I've taken to signing up all the board members and executives for porn.

How about "real" junk mail? U know, the one that actually helps the deforestation of the planet, and is also just as irritating as email-junk mail?? :| Is anything going to be done about that?

I heard a great way to get rid of all the paper junk mail.
Just mail them back to the sender. Put them back into those returning envelopes that have the postage paid by the sender (the 'YES' envelope), but be careful not to send back any agreements that automatically make you order something.

Huh??? You get empty prepaid envelopes with your junk mail??? Or is my IQ really low today?

Yes... to both of the questions.
If I get junk mail that offers me for example a subscribtion of some magazine, there usually is some competition attached to it.

The junk mail comes with two return envelopes, marked 'YES' and 'NO'.

-The 'NO' envelope is not pre-paid, and it is used if you just want to take part in the compo, but not order anything.
-The 'YES' envelope is used if you agree to order someting, and you are also taking part in the competition. This envelope is pre-paid, but it is also addressed to the sender. You cannot use the envelope to send your mail jut to anybody, just to the sender.

I think similar system is in use in GB too :?

With paper-based spam I just put it in our paper scredder - which is very therapeutic.

Eletronic spam denies me this simple pleasure

Let me explain something to you.

Real mail spam pays the post office which is part of the government. Therefore they make money off it and will not stop it.

Email spam is free to send and costs others money. Therefore they will stop it.

HELL NO!! :D
You mean when you get all those offers and compos from Reader's Digest, you have to pay for the stamp if you want to send back the 'Yes, I will agree to receive your stupid 'free' Book ofthe Month, and thus will sign to receive one book per month for £XX / book'

I'm not an expert since i bin them straight away, but they usually have telephone numbers or websites, you are very rarely required to send stuff to them since you can order online/by phone...

Good plan, I've done the same a few times...but I always sign them up for gay porn... ;)

Those snail-mail spams that had the infamous "Postage will be paid by addressee" return cards in 'em I always used to wrap up a brick in brown paper and just glue the card to it. :devilish:
