Red Alert 2 on Dell Venue 8 Pro

I am trying to get my favourite game of all time running on my new Dell Venue 8 Pro tablet, Red Alert 2. Believe me ive tried all the compatabilty options in different combinatioms that you can. The problem is that the screen just turns ands stays black at the main menu. You can hear the music and move the invisible cursor around and click om the invisible buttoms, but the screen is just black.
I saw that user swaaye reported that he got it working in this thread

but i cant seem to get ahold of him in any way. Basically Swaaye if you are reading this can you tell me what you had to do please? Or if anyone else can help too. Thanks.

It has Win8 compatibility problems, the same as Tiberium Sun. There is a forum out there with a thread with some solutions. Google will find it.

I lost interest because it is too tricky to play by touch.

We'l I got it to work on my other windows 8 device fine with a few compatability settings, those same settings dont make it work on my dv8p. Ive googled the crap outa this for days and tried many solutions, most offered the same advice.
Did you encounter the same black screen problem im having with your dv8p? The game is running, but it just displays black nothingness. Maybe its a driver problem with intels hd graphics, what version is yours? Mine is 10.18.10.3306.

I remember I tried a few different fix packs. They are just different DirectDraw wrappers. The one I ended up using still had some problems. You might need to experiment with Windows compatibility modes too.

I don't have Tiberian Sun or RA2 on my DV8P anymore though.

Hey yeah that dd wrapper worked mostly. It flashes with touch input but not with mouse, also i cant get Yuris revenge to go to 1280x 800, but i can on ra2. Mixed success but ill take it. Thanks man
