Graphics and Performance on PS5
PS5 players will be able to experience the excitement of Rainbow Six Siege with the highest graphical enhancements that the game has to offer on consoles. These enhancements will offer multiple options for prioritizing either performance or resolution, granted players are equipped with a compatible device:
  • Performance Mode: Target 120 fps with 4k Dynamic Resolution Scaling
  • Resolution Mode: Target 60 fps with 4k Resolution
  • Activity Card support for Ranked, Unranked, Newcomer, Quick Match, & Events so players can dive into the game faster
The graphical power of the PlayStation 5 enables better lighting and depth of field improvements, especially on long distance. Get ready to literally see your favorite map in a new light, and uncover new levels of detail.

DualSense
However the PS5 Rainbow Six Siege experience is not limited to visual enhancements. The dev team has embraced the new DualSense wireless controller, with its haptic feedback and adaptive triggers, for better immersion and improved reflexes in high-stakes gunfights.

Thanks to the DualSense controller’s adaptive triggers, squeezing the R2 trigger emulates the resistance of an actual trigger, offering a unique feel for each weapon category and shooting gadget. For example, adaptive trigger resistance is light and quick for pistols, and heavier for bigger, powerful weapons like light machine guns. Players will also be able to feel the difference between single fire and full-automatic for full immersion.

In addition, thanks to the haptic feedback players will sense impact like never before. Dynamic and immersive, haptic feedback reacts with the environment. Weapons, explosions, gadgets and so on will provide feedback directly in the player’s hands.

Transitioning to PS5
If you currently own a copy of Rainbow Six Siege on PS4 and plan to acquire a PS5, you will be able to upgrade your game at no additional cost. All players will be able to keep their progression and in-game items when transitioning between consoles. Owners of physical game copies can only upgrade at no extra cost if they have a PlayStation 5 console with a disc drive.

Cross-play is also available for players gaming on PS4 and PS5, and they will be able to face one another whether playing on a PS4 or PS5.

EASILY TRANSITION TO NEXT-GEN

If you currently own a copy of Rainbow Six Siege on PS4 or Xbox One, and plan to stay within the same console family, you will be able to upgrade your game at no extra cost*. In addition, all players will be able to keep their progression and in-game items when transitioning between console generations. Please remember that physical game copies will not be able to transfer to discless console versions.

ENJOY CROSS-GENERATION PLAY AND PROGRESSION

If you are looking to get a next-gen console, don’t worry about your Rainbow Six Siege progression and in-game items when transitioning: we’ve got you covered. With the new Ubisoft Connect ecosystem, you will keep your progression and in-game items when switching between devices within the same family of consoles: from PS4 to PS5 and from Xbox One to Xbox Series X|S.

As previously announced, cross-play will also be available for players within the same console family, so that you can keep playing with your friends no matter what generation they are playing from.

As for cross-progression and cross-play between PC and consoles, or between consoles from different families, we are continuously listening to your feedback and we know this is something important to you. While these features will not be available at launch on next-gen versions, we are exploring the possibilities. We want to make sure we are taking all necessary elements into consideration to ensure we continue providing all of you with the best technical and well-rounded experience. This type of implementation needs to be thoroughly thought-through, and this is where we stand right now. We will be sure to update you in the future when we have more news to share.

PLAY WITH ENHANCED GRAPHICS AND PERFORMANCE ON NEXT-GEN
Get ready to experience the thrill of enjoying the highest level of graphical enhancements that the game has to offer on console. To make sure we cater to all needs, you will be able to choose between different options, whether you wish to prioritize the best framerate, or the highest resolution, granted that you are equipped with a compatible screen device:

  • Performance Mode: Target 120 FPS with 4K Dynamic Resolution Scaling (PS5, Xbox Series X) / Target 120 FPS at 1080p (Xbox Series S)
  • Resolution Mode: Target 60 FPS with 4K resolution (PS5, Xbox Series X) / Target 60 FPS at 1728p (Xbox Series S)
For PS5 owners, you will also enjoy:
  • Deeper immersion with your DualSense controller capabilities: haptic feedback, adaptive triggers, and controller sound output.
  • Activities support for Ranked, Unranked, Newcomer, Quick Match & Events so players can dive into the game faster.
For Xbox Series X|S owners, you will find:
  • Quick Resume ability that enables you to switch between multiple titles and resume instantly from where you last left off.
Additional features are also coming on all platforms with this next-gen launch, such as accessibility features (readability options and text-to-speech and speech-to-text), quick start options and the all new Ubisoft Connect overlay.

Yeah, will be curious to see how they target Series S.

I guess some developers if in a time pinch could use base settings from One X with Resolution Adjustments for Series S, while focusing on Series X. When that's complete and tweaked then they could circle back around for Series S specific patches.
