Hi

First post so aplogies if this is the wrong forum
I have a PC and added a Radeon X800 card, this has a VGA out let and a DVI one – I have a flat screen monitor that uses the DVI Socket

I run ati catalyst control centre

So I have no bought a Philips 42 Inch HD LCD which can apparently take PC Input ?

I have an HDMI cable which I can put into the DVI outlet on the graphics card, however the Philips TV says no signal, when I plug it into the PC I hear a noise suggesting that its detected the new device.

I have an old monitor so I pluged that into the vga socket so I could at least see whats happening, the catalyst control centre sees the Phillips and describes it as a DCC device ?

I just cant seem to get a display on it from the PC

Help appreciated.

so I go from vga to what on the tv the hdmi socket ?

I think he should have asked did you TV have a vga input, if so try connecting it with a vga cable

if not, what may be the problem is that the resolution is set to something the TV can't use, when you have you monitor and TV connected to the PC check to see what resolution the it is setting for the TV

user error

it was me, really have to push the hdmi connector in firmly - works a treat

Thanks
