    Hey guys,

I believe we've posted one of the only reviews of ATI's new Radeon X1800 GTO over at Hot Hardware. With the card and the presentation coming less than a week before today's NDA lifted, we didn't have a chance to benchmark the X1800 XL. However, one look at the graphs in the review and I doubt many will complain...check out the review and you'll see why...

Makes 7600GT vs. X1800GTO a bit more interesting (the unlocking not the coffee, lol), eh?

Yeh for sure - if a driver hack or bios flash can make this a x1800xx albiet at diferent speeds then it just got a lot more interesting.

Try the previous method: flashing with a X1800XL BIOS.

Be sure to use Gigabyte's BIOS and flashing utility (changes entire BIOS)

Hardware.fr only got from ATI a BIOS that disables one quad on the X1800XL ;)
I don't know if it's the same for some other sites, or if ATI sends to those that get a card an XL with that BIOS for the preview. so sure in this case, flash it back to a X1800XL ; but I think the GTO are expected to have their quad laser-cut. (thus they should be un-unlockable like 7800GT and 7800GS)

If I had the card more than a couple of days before the NDA expired, you can be sure I would have tried to unmask those pipelines...

Given roughly 72hrs of time to get the card, benchmark, and write the review....I'd say that having results for the X1800 GTO, GeForce 7600 GT, GeForce 7900 GT, X1600 XT, and X1600 Pro was a good effort on our part. ;)

We'll be playing with the card and will post our findings soon....thanks for the feedback guys!

    Bit-tech confirms dongle-less X1800 Crossfire.

"In single card mode, the Radeon X1800GTO scores about 6600 and the CrossFire setup scores around 12000 to give an idea of the scaling that's possible with the dongle-less CrossFire implementation."

anyone else heard anything about availability for x1800GTO? IMHO, they'll be passing up a big opportunity launching after Oblivion...

Edit: looks like the only commitment I've heard about is "by March 31st" :/

Hanner at EliteBastards posted X1800GTO and X1900XL 256 lunch date. Both of them will be lunched on the same day on 23rd March 06

Also pointed out by nomore@Rage3D, Sapphire German lists new product based on X1800GTO, X1800GTO Toxic, X1900XL Toxic and X1900GTO Toxic! Check it on popup product menu (Nach Produkt) here...

The card in question here is what is X1900GTO , sound as if ATi is ready for team up a mainstream team to counter back this time round. Probably, the next ATi card may be called X1xxxGeO  .
