The problem with vr-zones claims ( assuming they are not correct ) is that a lot of othdr people at other sites who do not frequent b3d or similar now think that because vr-zone and HKEPC have shown card pictures then their claims are true, ie as xb says, it adds more weight to their claims.

Below is what I said on another forum

"r520 has always been a 16 pipe card no matter what the inquirer or vr-zone says IMO."

    here's the reply I got

"Man this post makes so little sense I want to know what the hell you are smokin' cause I want some!!! r520 has always been a 16 pipe card"

" What planet have you been on lol."

To me a fast part with 16ps at 90nm just makes more sense to maximise vpu' s per wafer, but I am not a great expert in these things it must be said.

Is it not obvious that HKPEC and VR Zone are wrong. They do have pictures from a R520, did they handle the card ? Was the card still working ? Is it an old sample or an actual revision of the chip - most probably not.

Is Dave not clearly hinting (or should we say hitting in our faces) that the rumored specs are wrong ?

Instead of discussing how many pipelines the card will have, I think it is much more interesting to discuss when we will see it in the stores. And not just the XL versions, but also the XT versions. That could be scary to some.

Over the last few pages, there has been too much off-topic stuff (well, okay, that's kind of gone on through the whole thread) and various retreads of details already covered. Pete has kindly done a quick summary of the point covered here:

1600 replies over something that hasn't appeared yet is a bit much! Time to start a new thread when new details appear; until then, just enjoy the summary above and beware Dave's frying pan!
