I find it perfectly valid to compare the x1300pro to the 6600GT which was launched and available since last year, especially now they both at the same price range.

While on ATI's shoe, I also find it perfectly valid if they don't recommend to bench against 6600GT because of "marketing" value.

For the press, that's another story....

Mind share, I know this. But what I'm saying is that, why would you wait so long to release a mid/low end part while you have total control of the market. ATi didnt have a thing that could compete with A 7600/7200 at the time, now that Nvidia has waited so long, ATi does, therefore hurting the sales on any potential 7600/7200 no matter how much faster or slower it is.

The double XL is very odd, even for internal marketing I would think ATi wouldn't make a major blunder as mislabling thier flagship.

Physics on a GPU its been done before nothing new there but I don't think ATi would be promoting Physics on a GPU when we won't be having enough graphics power to do both graphics and physics, which is painly obvious.

That could be a typo, that's only one.

As for the physics, you kinda defeat that yourself. Marketing, why not bring it up? Maybe it can do light physics acceleration, these are just marketing slides, every single idea possible went into them.

Having "total control" of a market for 3-4 months really doesn't indicate total control of anything, imo. You've got to have it for a couple of years before it starts to mean something like "total control" (whatever that actually is.) So the answer here is really a simple and logical one: nVidia never had "total control" of the market and so of course were unable to do as you've suggested they should have done.

Why all the fuss about price... really to compare you rightfully should pit MSRP against MSRP and not MSRP vs current retail. Why? Well the x1300 has no current retail.

Does anyone remember what the 6600GT MSRP was on release?

Thats a pretty big typo :)

Well marketing for what they have no physics SDK, why do they need to do that for internal sales docs. Who will write the SDK/engine for it.

What I'm saying is for the target audiuance of these internal sales docs they aren't that stupid not to know when a rug is being pulled over thier eyes.

I just realized that the countdown is really stupid. It seems hardcoded to one particular timezone. So if you're in a different timezone you'll get an incorrect time. I'm just guessing that it's EST and will look out for it at 9am EST.

When the NDA actually lifts... ^_^; can we get a few new threads going. Shall we agree to let this one die with the speculation once the launch happens? It will be one less (massive) thing to dig through once the real info starts rolling in.

I decided to go ahead and take a couple days off to wade through the reviews and ensuing forum flak under the pretense of taking my dad to do touristy stuff in the big apple. And now I'm sitting here at midnight refreshing tech sites in the hope of snagging a tidbit while my girl is all snuggled up under the sheets in the next room where I would be too if I had any sense. So very sad.....

Haha, I probably wont get to see anything till tomorrow afternoon. I agreed to go on a nature hike/photography session with my wife tomorrow. It'll be fun, we're heading to the Lake of the Ozarks, but I'm really wanting to see all official information.

OK, so how badly is ATI going to get lynched tomorrow when it's confirmed that the X1800XT won't be available for several more weeks? Considering the general mood surrounding ATI's launch mishaps, I'm getting the feeling that this is going to become the primary focus of many a reviewer's concluding statements. You guys at Ibiza must've discussed this amongst yourselves. Anyone got an ounce of mercy left?
