Just backup the iTunes library under Music and you are good to go.

Under music ?

is that music menu in itunes
or a folder called music

ps: as you can tell I know nothing about itunes
someone wants me to backup an itunes library

I've not got itunes but I would guess that Pressure means go "start_menu->Music" and up pops the Music Library window.

Mac OS X:
/Users/username/Music/iTunes/
Windows XP:
C:\Documents and Settings\username\My Documents\My Music\iTunes\
Windows Vista:
C:\Users\username\Music\iTunes\
Windows 7:
C:\Users\username\My Music\iTunes\

Should be fairly straightforward from there :)

Otherwise Apple has the skinny on how to do it here directly in iTunes, which I would advise you to do if your media isn't consolidated.

Thanks seems to be exactly the same process as backing up any other type of file, I was just worried that when they are copied to a new laptop some sort of drm may kick in and say "you dont have licenses for these songs"
