Question about Max Payne 1&2 with newer cards

    There's a selection for Hardware/Software T&L. Is there an advantage/disadvantage to picking the hardware T&L as there is no fixed function hardware anymore?

    It might reduce the performance from 546 fps down to 487 if turned on? :razz:

    No disadtvantage. Shader based cards emulate fixed hardware t&l with a vertex shader that's all. There shouldn't be any performance issues because of that though especially on todays cards.

    Ah ok, thanks.

    Oddly enough, Max Payne seems to run a lot worse than Max Payne 2. :?

    That's normal. Better optimized engine is my guess.

    Yep, it runs much better than the first one. And it looks better too. I find it still a nice polished game

    It's too bad we can't easily use the Max 1 level data in Max 2. :p
